Homemade All-Purpose Cleaner

Hello everyone! I hope you all are having an awesome week so far!

As a mother of a 15-month-old, I am INCREDIBLY cautious of the products I use in my household, specifically for cleaning. Near the end of my pregnancy, I made the switch to all natural cleaning products, because it really is important to me. I don’t want to keep cleaners that have dangerous chemicals anywhere near my little one. The cons just outweighed the pros for me.

However, the thing about switching to all natural products is that it can get expensive. You get a smaller amount of product for just as much if not more money. You can have certain products delivered through a delivery service, but then you have to pay a subscription fee.

For me the easy solution was to make my own All- Purpose Cleaner. I have always been a huge fan of DIYs. I love making my own body scrubs, lip exfoliators, masks, etc. So why not an all-natural, all- purpose cleaner?

Once I decided to give it a try, I loved the results, and I have not used another cleaner since!

I have many mommy friends that feel the same way I do about these things, so I thought this would be a fun and helpful thing to share. And the best part is, it is so easy to make. I mean EASYeasy.

So here is an awesome way to make an all-natural, all-purpose cleaner that you can use around your home and not have to worry about it being dangerous around your kids or pets!

This DIY cleaner only has FOUR ingredients!

You are going to need:

  • Distilled White Vinegar
  • Warm Water
  • Baking Soda
  • Essential Oil (Of your choosing)

What I like to do is get a big spray bottle and funnel in about 1/3 cup of baking soda. After that I like to add in about 1 ½ cups of the white vinegar. Add it slowly because it will make a mess! I like to let Sophie help with this part because of how excited she gets with this little science experiment. After that I fill the rest of the bottle up with warm water, and then add between 12-15 drops of essential oil.

Choose a scent that you would like to have your cleaner smell like. I usually go for a citrus scent since citrus smells fresh and clean to me. Here I decided to go with Orange. And let me tell you, it smells amazing! And that’s it!

(Side Note: Make sure you shake it before use. I have noticed that the essential oil will usually rise to the top of the solution, so shake it to make sure you get some of that scent when you spray your cleaner!)

It works amazing on greasy messes (I love using it on my stove and in my microwave). I love using it all around the house, and the best part is that when I run out, I don’t have to go and run to the store to buy more!

Its super cost-effective as well as being a great cleaner!

I hope you all enjoyed this post and I will talk to you in my next one!
