Our Story (Part One)

Hey Everyone! I hope you are having a good week and are getting ready for an even better weekend! Woo Hoo!

Today I wanted to talk about something near and dear to my heart. And that is my Husband. He is my best friend and the funniest and most patient person I have ever met!

I am so proud to call myself his wife.

Well our story is a story I love re-telling over and over again, because it really was just so unexpected. All stories have twists and turns and hills to climb. Everyone has good days and bad days and no one is perfect. But when you find that imperfect person who you just…fit with… Well, we like to call that #puzzlepieceprobs.

So here it is! Our story! (Well part one anyway!)

We began without really knowing what we were getting into. I was actually in a different relationship, and Josh was just my manager. I still remember telling my college roommate that I didn’t think he was that cute, and that he just wasn’t my type. Little did I know, he WAS the type!

We were working together over the summer at an awesome little pizza joint over here in the Southwest called Dion’s. I had just come back from my first year at college, and due to some unexpected complications had found out that I couldn’t return to college the following semester. So, I was trying to pick up every shift I could, working doubles constantly, and since Josh was one of the managers, we were spending a lot of time together and began to become pretty good friends.

One night after work we were both invited to the same get-together and we ended up talking most of the night, realizing that we were basically the exact same person. We had the same interests, same beliefs, even the same taste in candy bars and ice cream! Oh, and sunflowers. We both loved/love sunflowers.

After that we really hit things off! Soon enough I was no longer in a relationship, but was not ready to date, so we ended up hanging out a lot and getting to know so much more about each other. We had so many fun adventures that still to this day are some of the closest memories I hold near my heart! I could not believe how perfect Josh seemed. I kept telling myself that it was too good to be true, and I remember waiting for the other shoe to drop. I have one memory in particular that is still so vivid it makes my heart melt. I remember both of us in his car and as we started driving away from his house, he looked to me and said “I think I am going to marry you someday.” He couldn’t have been more right!

Well on October 4th, 2015 we were just having a pretty relaxing day hanging out. We had a few errands to run, so we got in the car and off we went! He had said that he needed to buy fish food, and said I could stay in the car if I wanted to. So, I did and as I sat there I heard a noise towards the back of the car. And there he was, trying to stuff a bouquet of pink roses in his trunk. I knew something was coming. I still laugh to myself to this day about how gosh darn adorable he was. Some people might think that it ruined the surprise, but to me, it is just another amazing and adorable memory. He took me somewhere that was very important to him (I like the idea of keeping this to just us.) and took me by the hand and asked me to be his girlfriend. I answered with “You act like there could be any other answer but yes.”

And so, it began. Our “Official” story.

I think this is a good stopping point for now. But I promise, with the other parts to come, it only gets better!

For now here is are a few pictures of us during that time, including the first picture we ever took with each other! (Top Left).

We had no clue the journey we were about to take! All good things come unexpectedly!

I would love to hear you and your partners beginning stories! Comment down below telling me how your story began!

Thanks, everyone and I will talk to you in my next post!
